i am a fan of the x-men comics but it depends on who writes it and pencils it. watched the second x-men movie last thursday. i'm gonna sound like a comic book for this review. overall its better than the first one. you can thank the movie's bigger budget for that. its is a joy to watch ian mckellen as magneto. i doubt that anyone will call this one the wolverine show part ii. his story is a big part of the movie's storyline. the movie is loosely based on the god loves, man kills graphic novel by chris claremont (i recommend it to anyone interested). for any cyclops fans: tough luck, he doesnt appear about 2/3 of the movie. jason mardsden, who plays cyclops, has a tough time selling the drama for his character especially at the end when he cries his eyes out. that visor he's wearing kinda takes the drama away from cyclops since we can't see his eyes. hugh jackman makes wolverine as cool as he was in the first movie. too bad that sabretooth and toad werent in this movie. wouldve loved to see their characters get some closure. especially with wolverine's weapon x storyline in the movie. kelly hu needs some lines in the movie. theres more to acting than walking around and looking tough. i loved her fight scene with wolverine. too bad she died though. the villians need to die a more spectacular death than what we see in the movie. i could go on and on about this movie but i'm getting tired. long day. wacth the movie. you'll enjoy it. by the way, we'll know on monday or tuesday if the third movie will be in the works.
