Ok. Here is my review for Green Lantern: Circle of Fire Tradepaperback. Crap! My minds a blank. I can't think of anything to write. Be right back. Let me grab a cold pizza in the fridge. Maybe that'll help.

Ok I ate rice and corned beef instead of cold pizza for breakfast and I still haven't got anything to say about it. I'll lie down. Maybe that'll help.

Two hours later...

I'm back. I think I can get start this now. Not much to say about it now that i think about it. I mean it's not really a jumping-on point for new readers but its good enough and this story was marketed more of a major event in the current Green Lantern's life, Kyle Rayner. The tradepaperback consists of Green Lantern: Circle of Fire # 1 & 2, Green Lantern/Atom #1, Green Lantern/Power Girl #1, Green Lantern/Adam Strange #1, Green Lantern/Firestorm #1, and Green Lantern/Green Lantern#1, One thing thats as close to a flaw as it can get is varying artists for each issue. Makes the overall storyline substandard. But in this case it doesnt work that way. No one has to read the #1 issues of GreenLantern/? to be able to understand the entire story. Just reading Circle of Fire 1 and 2 will work themselves out. On the other hand. It gives readers some characterizaiton and good storytelling with some established characters in the DC Universe in the team-up books pairing one of the Green Lanterns with their respective partner in the title.

The story here is: An interstellar menace called Oblivion is making his way to Earth for death and destruction. The premiere superteam of the world, The Justice League of America, meets Oblivion and is defeated. They fail. It now falls in the hands of Kyle Rayner to defeat this bad guy as evidence points out that Oblivion is actually a childhood drawing of Kyle's given life. He inadvertently summons various Green Lanterns from different time periods and dimensions to aid him in his cause along with Firestorm, Atom, Powergirl and Adam Strange. The kicker here is Oblivion's and the various Green Lantern's connection to Kyle Rayner.

One team up book to read is the Green Lantern/Green Lantern #1 written by current GL scribe Judd Winnick (Sidenote: Winnick is the winner of the GLAAD Award for three consecutive years). This particular issue has Kyle Rayner teamed up with the Green Lantern of another dimension which happens to be his dead girlfriend. Its has a solid story of two lovers who have never met. One is trying to move on and the other is trying to rekindle what they had between them. Some good stuff.

All in all, regular readers of GL will like this book. New readers can get on the book and start from there. Its a pretty good book. Give it three lanterns out of five.
